Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, is certainly one of a kind. If you ask anyone who lives here, they will tell you that this is a culturally mixed community, and that it is the locals who breathe life into the city. As port people, they come from all over the world and bring diverse cultures. Romantic music, people who tango almost every chance they get, avid Maradona fans, old World colonial architecture and delicious Latin cuisine blend perfectly here.

You will spend the night in a hotel in the city before catching an early flight the next morning. Depending on when you arrive, you can explore this vibrant capital on your own if you have time. Visit the Teatro Cologne, a beautiful opera house dating back to 1908, then head to the historic cafe Tortoni for Parisian-style coffee and churros dipped in chocolate. Caminito is a colorful street museum in the Boca district, with a lively market and a restaurant with live folk dance and tango performances. To keep the party atmosphere going late into the night, Palermo's wealthy districts have plenty of bars and bowling clubs.

The next morning, we will arrange a bus to pick you up at your hotel and take you to the airport. You will board a flight to Ushuaia and when you arrive in Ushuaia, you will take a simple tour of the city on the bus. Boarding the Amundsen in the afternoon, there will be a welcome dinner on board.

A bus will be arranged to take you to the airport 3-4 hours before your flight. In the morning we fly to Ushuaia, take a bus for about 20-30 minutes to the city center, and take a city tour for about 45 minutes, and then go to the dock to get ready to board the ship, the cruise ship has been waiting here for a long time, the cruise ship will hold a welcome party. From here, we will explore the frozen continent of Antarctica!

We need to sail for two days to get to Antarctica. That's a good thing, because many people who have been to Antarctica say that two days is just about the time you need to fully acclimate to the cruise and relax.

To ensure you are prepared for your upcoming expedition, the expedition team will host a series of in-depth lectures at the Science Centre. Each member of the expedition is an expert in different disciplines, and they are a walking, vocal treasure trove of fascinating stories and information. You can listen and learn interesting facts about the local wildlife and how to respond to situations when curious penguins or seals get too close by following sustainable development protocols approved by the International Association of Antarctic Tourism Organizations. As part of the International Association of Antarctic Tourism Organizations guide, you will learn about the importance of wearing our sterilized rubber boots during a landing in Antarctica and why we thoroughly suck any foreign objects from the clothing beforehand.

You will also find this cruise ship equipped with a variety of modern equipment to increase your comfort. You can work out at the gym and outdoor track. If your body is a little sore after your workout, you can relax in the sauna or get a massage from a skilled technician at the health spa to relieve post-workout fatigue.There are three restaurants on board, each with a different culinary theme to satisfy your taste buds, while the Explorer's Lounge & Lounge is the ideal place to relax with a glass of wine or champagne. Just because adventure is exciting doesn't mean it can't be luxurious!

As you cross the world-famous Drake Passage, you can enjoy on-board lectures or observe wildlife on deck to prepare for the surprises that lie ahead.

The landscape of Antarctica is endless - a beautiful country sealed by pristine ice and snow. Icebergs are shaped like tables, part of a larger ice shelf below the water, and ancient glaciers giving birth to blue icebergs carved by the wind and sun. This is another world where there is no human impact on the environment and a haven for wildlife such as whales, penguins and seals.

Just as Antarctica's ice landscape changes with the seasons, so does its wildlife. For example, from October to January, you can see a steady increase in the number and range of whales, peaking in February and March, when whale watching is best. At this time, the abundance of krill in the water attracts the vast majority of whales and the vast majority of whale species, a veritable foraging frenzy. If you arrive here in November, you may see thousands of penguins courting and nesting. Those who sail in December may see adorable penguin chicks that melt hearts, while March is usually when adolescent penguins mature and learn how to swim. Other birds that can fly, unlike penguins, show differences throughout the summer. Avid ornithologists will usually see cormorants, egrets, sheaths, and more.

You have five days to experience every moment of wonder and breathtaking scenery Antarctica has to offer. It could be gazing at the white mountains in the distance while walking ashore, or a pair of playful Weddell seals surfacing next to your small adventure storm boat and peeking at you with their big, curious eyes. Optional activities such as kayaking, snowshoeing and camping are also available if the weather and environmental conditions permit. These are the kinds of experiences that await you in Antarctica. Rest assured that we plan each landing thoroughly, choosing the best of the many possible locations on the Antarctic Peninsula and its surrounding islands.

Lectures on the expedition will also continue to be held, whether on cruise ships, ashore during landings, or even while navigating through icebergs and ice floes in small expedition assault boats. Topics may relate to glaciology and the impact of climate change on Antarctic ice shelves, or the history of the cold continent from the age of whaling to its current status under international peace treaties. During your journey, the insights of the expedition team will be invaluable to you and will surely multiply your ability to explore.

It's a good idea to discuss some tips for improving the quality of your shots with a professional wildlife and landscape photographer on the expedition. These skills will certainly be useful on the many citizen science projects you can choose to participate in. One such project is the Happy Whale Project, where you can upload photos of any whale you spot to a global database, illustrating how researchers track migration patterns and the overall health of the whale population. In this way, in addition to being a precious memory, your photos will most likely also contribute to human research.

Even though you may not want to leave, our time in Antarctica is coming to an end and we will have to turn around again and head north. With the next two days sailing through the Drake Passage, you can organize all your amazing Antarctica photos and make sure you still have room on your memory card for what comes next. You can also choose to take part in studio activities that direct your memories of Antarctica to drawing penguins or learning how to tie an intricate sailor knot.

​At the Science Centre, the expedition team may give a talk to stimulate your enthusiasm for the last days of the voyage to the Malvinas Islands. Lectures may include the island's intense history and the species of birds that can be seen around its beautiful beaches. Between lectures, you can observe water samples at the cellular level using the Science Center's advanced microscope. You'll find a variety of microscopic life forms, including krill and phytoplankton, which also happen to be related to another citizen science project.

The vast Malvinas (Falkland) Islands are divided into two main islands, east and west, and nearly 800 smaller islands.

Just as we do in Antarctica, your three days of exploration here and the exact landing locations for each day will be based on local conditions at the time. After seeing the barren white landscapes of Antarctica's outer planets, you may feel a lot more relaxed when you see green mountains, blooming wildflowers, charming white beaches and turquoise waters. However, it's not all that different from Antarctica, as there are also thousands of penguins for you to watch! During these days we will try to see colonies of penguins, often mixed with fur seal families. We will keep a safe distance so as not to disturb them or their tuxedo-clad neighbors.

You'll also once again encounter signs of human civilization, such as the family farms scattered around, or Stanley, the capital of East Falkland, where four-fifths of the island's population lives. When you visit, you'll find the town is a microcosm of British life, including the typical red buses and serving English beers.

Your adventure is almost over. You can enjoy your last day at sea as much as you like. Head to the bar and share a few drinks with friends you made on the road. You can learn more about these modern explorers by chatting with the team about their respective adventures. Enjoy a wonderful dining experience at the a la carte restaurant or a soothing treatment at the wellness spa. Or just spend time relaxing on the deck, watching the waves and fondly remembering the many highlights of your voyage.

After enjoying two weeks exploring Antarctica and the Malvinas Islands, we return to Ushuaia. It's been an epic emotional journey and we've seen and learned so much together. When we say goodbye to each other, we will probably shed tears.
